The total area: 160 sqm,
Implementation: implemented
Unlike interior that arose, so to speak, "from the scratch", that is, it became embodiment of the architect's imagination not fettered at all, this interior was designed with a set of objective and subjective assumptions in mind. As a result, the image of the apartment, that got already the third or even fourth life became one harmonious whole, against which you can if you want to trace all the "undercurrents" that influenced its creation. To begin with, the house where the apartment of young family is located, four years later will celebrate its centenary: there are not too much old buildings, so-called "Ecatherina" building, in today Dnipropetrovsk, and you can only rejoice when they got into a "good hands". It is quite understandable that the "spiritus loci" of the old house is fully reflected in the basic premises of the apartment. "Spiritus loci" presence is especially noticeable thanks to decorative treatment of individual sections of the walls, simulating the laying of an authentic brick Ekaterinoslav: well-chosen decorative material, not only in texture, but even around the world coincides with the original.
The elements of a classic style that seamlessly combined with modern geometric shapes of furniture and other interior pieces not too numerous but very visible are perceived in the same context of "eternal values". This "friendly-parity" did not originate by chance: it was the result of synthesis of the wishes of the couple - the customer originally had reverence for strict but she-customer gave unconditional preference to arched openings and elegant decor. Two arches, that owners "inherited" from the before the Revolution times, found second birth after redevelopment, so the enrance hall, where they are located, became a kind of "cultural - aesthetic center" in the flat. It was decided entrances to the premises to deploy forty-five degrees relative to the central axis, which made it possible not only to visually expand the space, but also to provide the most comfortable position of the main functional areas. For example, the dining room took place in the area with the best lighting (where, in addition, there is a way out to a spacious loggia), living room became palpable isolation and kitchen was located compactly in a niche formed and equipped with all necessary communications. The original layout of the apartment had a significant impact on the appearance of private apartments. Thanks to a dedicated space for a dressing room (which had a rather complex configuration) the architect had opportunity to make master's bedroom most spacious since the installation of a closet directly into the room was no longer necessary.
Bed and toilet areas are located so that between them the free territory formed. This is particularly relevant, given that this free territory is right on the walkway to the balcony door - not every bedroom can "boast" by such spatial abilities. Also enough room was found along the side walls to place here not a miniature dressing table and a wide mirror in silver frame. Despite the quite minimalistic nature of objects a clear influence of the classical style is obviously felt in the bedroom and in almost all other areas. The only exception from this classic "mainstream" is the bathroom - a rather large room with a window, where you can even find an isolated corner to accommodate the laundry room. Expressive volumes and planes are highlighted effectively by contrasting black and white combinations, giving it a very respectable modern way, and developed plan includes a full range of sanitary zones. Successful placement of all necessary things as in bathroom as well as in the entire apartment was not prevented by baseline difficulty - such as the presence of non-rational "well-form" spaces. After all, everyone who is involved in the reconstruction of old buildings, is well aware that any non-standard situations should be used for good: we just have to try to get rid of unnecessary "layers" communal past - and then it should return "to normal." The text is taken from the magazine "DOMUS", in which this interior was published that came to the top ten in the Ukraine in 2009.
